Presenter

Rob McInnes, principal, Spruson & Ferguson

Rob is a Principal of Spruson & Ferguson, and leads its commercial transactions practice. He has over 20 years experience in the management, commercialisation and enforcement of intellectual property rights.

He assists clients including multinationals, start-ups, universities and private equity investors, in the negotiation and drafting of licensing and other IP agreements, and the establishment and financing of new technology ventures.

In addition to his career as a lawyer in private practice, he has a degree in chemistry and was the in-house Manager of IP and Technology Transfer with a multinational corporation.

Rob is a Past President of the Licensing Executives Society in Australia, and has been the Chair of the LES International Life Science Committee and Industry/University Transactions Committee. He is one of only five Australians to have qualified as a Certified Licensing Professional under a scheme established by the Licensing Executives Society in the USA.
